Meet the Brandon May Team: Sonya, along with Natalie, is the co-owner.
She has over 10 years experience within the industry and started out her career as a hairdresser while training with Toni & Guy. A few years after qualifying, she decided to go back to college. This was to complete some training she needed to do a teaching qualification and that’s where her and Natalie met. This was the start of Brandon May…
She completed that teaching qualification in 2013, as we feel training is an important part of the Brandon May philosophy.
She’s friendly and passionate about every client; she wants to make you feel special. Sonya covers all aspects of hairdressing, but loves bridal hair and men’s hair.
She says that when she has free time, she enjoys travelling, watching stupid animal videos and buying ankle boots.
Meet the Brandon May Team: Co-owner Natalie did her advanced hairdressing at Toni & Guy Academy in Manchester, where she excelled in both cutting and colouring. After working for them for many years, she felt like she needed a new challenge so went back to college. This is where she met Sonya and it was decided it was time to open up a salon of her own and Brandon May was born!
She has a fun and creative approach to her work, this keeps her style fresh and current. She covers all aspects of hairdressing, but particularly enjoys balyage and hair extensions. In her free time, she loves spending time with her son.
Meet the Brandon May Team: Our Senior Stylist Nicola has been part of the team since May 2016.
She knew from a young age she wanted to be a hairdresser and started out her career helping in salons age 14 and went on to Andrew Collinge in 2009 to do her NVQ level 2 & 3. There, she also competed in an assistant competition as well as completing some advanced cutting training. After qualifying, she worked a column at their Liverpool salon.
Upon joining us here at Brandon May, she got fully immersed in our way of life and has completed some Tigi Copyright Colour training as well as enabling us to open Sundays.
While she loves all aspect of the job, she especially enjoys colouring hair and making clients feel special when they walk out. Nicola works Thursdays and Sundays.
When she’s not busy at work, she’s busy with her two children and planning her wedding!
Meet the Brandon May team: Stylist Daisy started hairdressing in 2013 after she decided going to University to do Art & Design wasn’t for her. Before starting hairdressing, Daisy gained a BTEC level 3 in Art and Design so this set her in good stead.
Having recently completed her NVQ level 3 in hairdressing, she wanted a new challenge in a salon and city that inspired her so got a job here at Brandon May and moved from her hometown of Barnoldswick!
Daisy started at Brandon May in September 2016 immediately took part in some training sessions, an important part of the Brandon May philosophy. She works full time, her days are Tuesday-Friday and alternate Saturdays and Sundays.
Her favourite thing to do within the industry is colour and she really enjoys keeping up-to-date with hair trends, fashion and make up.
She enjoys anything that really lets her get creative and to give you an idea of what she’s like, we’ve added some recent work of Daisy’s. You can book cuts and blow dries online or you can call the salon.
Whenever she gets the opportunity she’s off listening to music at festivals or meeting up with her mates. Her recent Manchester move has meant she’s been getting her new place homely, too.
